How to do a Crossword Puzzle…

1) Grab an issue of the Daily Collegian.

2) Open up to the last page with a pen in hand

3) Read over the clues to the ACROSS section

4) When you know a definite answer, write it in the proper number space on the puzzle and then check it off

5) Then read over the clues to the DOWN section

6) When you know a definite answer, write it in the proper number space on the puzzle and then check it off

7) Now that you’ve done all the definite answers, go reread over the clues you haven’t gotten

8) Check to see if you have any letter clues in the ones you thought you knew but were unsure of

9) Now fill in those answers and cross off the clues.

10) By this time, you should almost be complete with the puzzle, with only a few clues missing.

11) For example, if you have 9 across and 16 across complete, you should be able to get 13 down, because they all intersect with one missing letter.

12) Do this for the rest of the clues and you will be complete your first crossword puzzle.
