December 1

It's finally December :) and I am extactic!! It is my favorite time of year because christmas is near, which means I get to start skiing a lot!! This year I hope I can learn how to snowboard because I would like to be able and do both fairly well at some point in my life. Anyways..

Today I interviewed my friend who had an eating disorder and I think it will really contribute a lot of useful information to my paper. She was a model and after being constantly criticized about her weight she started losing weight. This will help contribute to the society and media portion of the paper. Because societies "ideal" body type is skinny, the photographer felt the need to criticize my already tiny friend on certain parts of her body. I hope that adding in the interview to my paper will help people understand how people with eating disorders view their body, even when they are already at an unhealthy weight. Alright, well I need to add the interview to my paper and do some more research. See everyone tomorrow!

At the moment I am sitting here working on our paper and we are trying to fit both of our introductions together for each topic into one. Everything is working out good and fitting together and the comments from the email really helped. Alright, I am going to get back to it.

I can not believe the last week is finally here...I am soo stressed but also really excited because I get to go home on Monday and relax.

Anyways...I was reading an article in the Daily Collegian today called: Study Trips Popular before Finals which had to do with sororities taking "study trips" while raising money for the Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. I think that is an excellent idea, I mean im not in a sorority, but having a canning weekend before finals week would probably create a HUGE problem for many students. Having a "study trip" would let students know that they would be able to get work down rather then just drinking and having a good time. One girl in their said she hopes they make them mandatory to keep the girls in sororities gpa's up. That will most likely never happen because everyones standards are different. What might be a terrible gpa for one student might be an acceptable one for another so you can not really tell people in college that they need a certain gpa. That only can apply for things such as your major. I think that this "study trip" would help a lot of girls out during finals week, which may help other girls realize that there is time for studyin in a sorority environment.

SIX DAYS TILL I GO HOME!

I was reading an article in the Daily Collegian called Tan Salan owner recieves probation and it started to creep me out. I go tanning and the fact that some creeper could be peepin in or have video cameras in the booths is disgusting. This guy, Ronald Hanslovan, is accused of spying on undressed customers using peep holes and video cameras. However, he pleaded no contest yesterday to a third degree misdeameanor charge. Pleading no contest is basically saying that you did it, because you are not defending yourself at all. Your basically not going any direction because your not saying that you did do it, but your also not saying that you didn't. Luckily he is on probation in a year, but the article was not sure if someone on probation can run a business, but im hoping that he can not. If he does there really is no point for him to be on probation because he'll probably continue with his perverted ways.

As I continued on through the Daily Collegian there was an article about the Wikipedia. The Wikipedia is tightening submission rules after a jounalist complained that an article falsely implicated him in the Kennedy assassinations. It just goes to show that one person can ruin it for the rest of us. Now you must register before they creating articles. John Seigenthaler, who was a one time administrative assistant to Robert F. Kennedy, complained that a biography on him was completely false. The journal entry said that he had been a suspect in the murder of John F. Kennedy, which was not at all true. I see how this could get him very upset, but I do not think making people register for the Wikipedia will stop these types of stories.

I agree. And I think it's a shame that Wikipedia has made the change. Wikis are based on the belief that a group of people will be benevolent, work together, and make things better. Installing registration seems to say that ideal isn't working. TheKemBlog

FOUR DAYS TILL I GO HOME!

I think I am going insane...I have not slept in 2 days because of the massive amounts of work due on Monday. Monday is it for me...EVERYTHING is due and I don't know if i can make it! I feel like my head is going to explode and that time is just flying by. Everytime I feel like sleeping all I can think about is how much time that will be wasting. I guess I can look at the glass half full, and say that I get to go home Monday, but I wish my finals were a little more spread out because I feel like I am not prepared. I do have 4 days left...but that will go by so quickly!! Aight .. back to studying for chem and calc...can not wait to go home!

THREE DAYS TO GO!!!

I am reading the article in the daily collegian called:Ticket sales spur joy,heartache because my brother was actually one of the lottery winners. But,just like a lot of people, he had a presentation to give and couldn't go and get it. He was so mad because they should not have done it this week or they should have just kept the tickets for the people who won. It's unfortunate that people with exams and presentations were unable to pick up there tickets. I mean sure the lottery idea was good but they picked a terrible week to do it on. These last two weeks in the semester are crucial and you can not expect people to be able to drop everything and go stand in line for hours.

December 10

TWO DAYS TO GO!!

I have never been this excited to just take my final and get out of here. I mean... I am not "excited" to take my finals...just anxious because i have been preparing this whole week. I actually feel very confident for chemistry, but that will probably change once I see the test. For math I didn't really study, but i havent studied all year and have an A. So I figure i'll just do practice exams and look over my notes tomorrow. It has been such a crazy week and I never thought I would get through it, but time flew and before I know it i'll be riding the greyhound into pittsburgh. I CAN NOT WAIT!!! Then xmas comes and FAMILY and presents and shopping!!! :):):) I am so stoked and also can not wait to ski a whole lot when i go home! Well, I guess the last blog day is monday.. but I hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

FINALLY MADE IT!! I can not believe I am done with my first semester of college! It is insane!! And I somehow made it through my finals and managed to get a B on my chem 12 final.. thank God!!! I don't really know how I did on my calc final because I was a little iffy on a lot of them and I did not study it as much as chemistry. Oh well, it is over now and I can relax for a month :) I also got to go to one of my school's basketball games, which was soo fun!! I got to see all my friends play and I realized how much I miss it. Ok well I am going to get back to watching Love Actually in my own HOME!! cya
