Final Project Proposal

For my final paper, I plan to use one of my previous papers as a base and then elaborate and develop it into more sophisticated work. My evaluation paper was about Penn State University being a superb school especially for first year students. I will not only add to this paper but I will change the tone to more of a persuasive one, instead of simply evaluating.

I will talk about high school students applying to college and how I could remember how stressful it was to make several important decisions. These high school students will be my intended audience. I will actively portray an accurate account of the first year college experience at Penn State.

I will describe how beautiful the campus is, complete with wonderful landscapes and scenery. I will describe the different seasons in “happy valley,” especially the fall, which many could argue is the most beautiful. Also, autumn is the season when everyone begins their first semester so it sets the tone for the year.

Another topic I will touch on is the city of State College being a town that is virtually built for the students. Also, I will talk about the academics and how prestigious they are. At the same time, I will talk about the strategic use of technology readily used on campus.

In order to dispel contradicting arguments, I will talk about why some may drop out or transfer first semester. I will conclude talking about the sense of community that Penn State has.
