For my definition paper, I intend to write about the transition from a regular boy to a frat boy. When the freshman boys first come to college there are many new things that may appeal to them. During the first few weeks of college, all the frats on or around the campus engage in something called “rush”. They all are known to throw large parties that are open to the many curious boys. They purpose of these blow out fiestas are to lure the young naïve boys into frat life.
Once one accepts a bid, he becomes an official pledge. This is when the frat literally becomes his life. Daily, he is called to clean, and frequently he is called to work at parties on weeknights. This is a very difficult time for the frat boy because he is constantly being hazed and at the same time working as a servant for the brothers. Once the pledge is finally initiated, he finds himself with a large amount of free time. Often times this grant of freedom is not used to be productive. The party life is simply increased. After four years of partying hard, what kind of man has the boy become?
