Regeneration Wednesday, September 28, 2005

I just found this article on mice that can regenerate body parts and even vital organs. They explain how successful it is in mice then talk about how it could be used for humans who want to live forever. They make it sound like it's not far off, but they should probably want to be careful and not test it on humans like they did on rats. This would be a huge breakthrough if it worked on humans, but I bet there's some pretty nasty side effects.

Enthymeme Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Article from this CNN.com article.

"People will seek his counsel, because his counsel is good," Reynolds said.

The hidden assumption is that people will seek all good councils. This is a little tricky because this is based on Reynold's opinion of what 'good' is. But on reason people wouldnt seek a so called 'good' council is if there is another that is better or if not many people know it's 'good'.

Rap songs in Movies Tuesday, September 27, 2005

You know how all it takes to make an awesome entrance in a movie is the slow motion walk with loud rap music blasting? I think just about every movie has this in it. It really is effective too. You can have a nerd walking up the steps to a class in slow motion with rap music and it would be a cool scene. I'll try to put a scene together when I get more time just to prove this.

News from home Sunday, September 25, 2005

I got some news from back home today that our middle school has assigned seats during lunch... That's ridiculous if you ask me. I don't think there was even a real reason for it. First off, how would they enforce it. With that many kids in the room at one time, what would you do.. take roll every day? All four years that my class went to the high school, nothing big ever changed. But this year, ass soon as we were gone, the whole district undergoes major changes. A lot of the teachers were moved around, some as late as last week during school. I'm just glad we got out of high school when we did. I really did like my school, but it seems to be going downhill now.
