Cell phones Saturday, October 29, 2005

I found this to be an interesting article. I agree that cell phone ring are annoying. I can't stand hearing my own sometimes. So for that past couple months, my phone has always been on vibrate. It's a pain to have to keep changing the volume every time you go to a different room or to class. With vibrate, you just keep it there.. all the time.

Sleep Thursday, October 27, 2005

Last night, just like every wednesday night for me, I got approximatley 14 hours of sleep. I just can't get myself to wake up when I don't have anything to do. I did have one thing to do all day though, and that was to write my movie review on The Boondock Saints. But getting myself to write is hard enough when I'm awake. So today I watched that movie for my first time. A lot of people were surprised that I've never seen it before. I'm not that big of a movie person; not that I don't like many movies, it's just that I don't have a lot of time to see them. It's now 11:15 PM and based on the time I woke up today, it's about lunch time. So I might go somewhere or call someplace and get some food. Hopefully before 5am I'm tired enough to go to bed. I probably should stop waking up so late thursdays so I can be ready for my 8am on friday, but that's going to take some work.

C++ Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Today we got our homework for CSE103 (a C++ intro class). Our homework is to make a game where you move a * around a maze of #'s to go to the $ while dodging all the @'s. Doesn't that sound fun? I'm a little surprised in how much they expect of you in an introductory class. It's not hard stuff for me because I've been programming for a while, but I can see how some people would have a good bit of trouble.

I'll have to agree with you about the Intro C++ class. I'm in it with you and I'm too advanced as well. At least it will be an easy grade. - ParkerBlog

Plagiarism Monday, October 24, 2005

Plagiarism is presenting work that is not yours as your own. This can be done word for word or just by stealing an idea or thought. However, quoting someone else word for word is not plagiarism as long as it is cited and credit is given to the original author.

Claim: PSU should add more seats or sections for classes that do not accept enough people.

Reasons: you run out of gen-ed requirements

Counter Arguments: none stated

Other counter arguments: this may not be a problem for many people.
