12/6

The presentation went surprisingly well. Typically I’m really nervous when I have to make any type of presentation. This was the second engineering presentation I’ve made this year and both times I was real comfortable. I think its because this stuff makes sense to me and I’m confident with the material instead of presenting something for another class that I really don’t care about.

12/6

Monday was not a great day as far as my sanity was concerned. As expected, all the problems for my engineering group that we were relieved of on Wednesday night transferred to Monday night. My presentation had to be made at eight in the morning on Tuesday and I managed to stay up until 3 working on it.

12/6

Sunday we went out early in the morning to the deadliest intersection in the world to do a little fund raising for kids with cancer. This was crazy to say the least. People in Philly fly down the boulevard and you’ve got to be on your toes at all times. No one got hurt and we all felt that we were doing it for a good cause.

12/6

Since I arrived at school I haven’t quite been able to understand people from Philadelphia. They just seemed to be a little different than the norm, no offence intended. In particular I did not get along very well with a guy that I joined the fraternity with. After spending some time with him in his own area it made me understand him better.

12/6

This weekend was the first time that I’ve ever been to Baltimore. It really is a nice city. When we got there we went to the inner harbor where we had planned on canning for thon. This was really a beautiful area right on the water. The only problem was that soliciting was illegal there and we were immediately kicked out. After a few poor attempts at raising money we ate dinner and decided to move our location to Philadelphia.

12/6

Saturday morning 10 guys and myself split up into three cars and began our venture to Baltimore. I haven’t been on many road trips that didn’t have to do with sports but this one toped them all, even from the minute we left our driveway. Coming back to the previously mentioned excess of pizza, frozen pizza makes an excellent projectile and it’s a great source of amusement on a 3 hour drive.

12/6

Friday night was a nice night because after our dinner, which had an excess of pizza, I was able to just hang out with some of the guys and relax. I haven’t had much time for that since school started in late August but I’m in a little more control of what I do here now. A lot of the guys much like myself wanted to relax especially since we were going to head to Baltimore to can for Thon on Saturday morning.

12/6

On Thursday evening, along with attending (I mean sleeping through) an engineering seminar, my membership in a brotherhood was completed. Somehow afterward the decision was made to celebrate the journey that I made instead of working relentlessly on my English final. Oh well, it’s started and I feel confident about it.

12/6

Thursday morning we continued to work on this project but still had little direction. At this point I had to take the initiative to design the planes’ configurations myself. On Thursdays I have this class twice, once in the morning and then again in the afternoon. The result, I worked from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon on a so-called group project.

12/6

Many classes choose not to have a final examination but rather do some sort of project. Unfortunately for me my engineering design class has assigned two projects to act as a final. The first involved unmanned air vehicles and aspects of design involved with that. As the project due date approached, Thursday morning, I found that my group was rather unprepared. We had managed to next to nothing and it was the day before the project was due. Needless to say there was a lot of frantic working until a call was made to a TA revealing that the project due date was postponed until Tuesday. This would have been fortunate but it only postponed the inevitable.

12/6

This past weekend was one of the most eventful weekends that I’ve had since I’ve come down to school. The combination of school, the fraternity, and a series of other events made this weekend (I’ll start with Wednesday afternoon) quite hectic. I do understand however, the coming days don’t look to be any easier as finals approach.

11/29

I really do despise ambiguous due dates, especially when they finally are given it’s the same day as when other projects are due. Today I went to my one class and found out not only did have to take a test but a group project is due on Thursday. Of course my group has hardly even started so I have to add one more thing to my list of projects due this week.

11/29

I’d like to be pleased that it’s 60 degrees out today but it’s rather difficult when it’s pouring outside. I’m not quite sure what to think of the whether right now. I like it when it’s warm outside but in no way to I enjoy getting rained on when I’m walking back from class. I guess I’ll just have to accept that its decent for the end of November.

11/28

It was far too difficult to get up for class today. I don’t think that I’m in the minority when I say that these will be two of the worst weeks of the year. Every class requires some sort of work to be due all within 3 days, and then we have finals immediately afterward. I will be extremely pleased when this is all over.

11/28

Today a gentleman that I met at Sheets last weekend called me back, as promised, regarding an employment opportunity. Little did I know that this job would be one of those pyramid scheme jobs where basically the lower employees do all of the work and give nearly all the money to the guy that is above them. As soon as I realized this the gentleman tried to end the conversation with me. Funny how they don’t want any employees to know what is really going on.

11/27

Finally back at school. In some ways I’d like to think of this as one type of madness ending and another type beginning, or continuing. The homework that I have to do is mounting for all my classes and I’m sure it’s the same for nearly every Penn State student. At this point I’m praying that all this work gets done and I make it to December 13th when I’ll head back home for nearly 4 weeks

11/27

I made my first trip alone down to school today. Typically I’m terrible at following directions and getting to places that involve roads that I’m not familiar with. It is true that I have made the trip from my hometown to state college quite a few times but it’s been a rare occurrence that I’ve stayed awake for the entire thing. Surprisingly I made it the entire way without a hitch. Now I just have to worry about my truck being parked at a fraternity house.

11/26

The rush continued Saturday. I had to make some rounds to see the rest of my friends. For the final time I saw the girl and again we did not talk about much. At this point I realized that it would only create problems. Maybe I’ll just wait it out until Christmas, or maybe we’ll continue to let it go. I guess only time will tell on this one.

11/26

And on the fourth day he rested. The one thing that I do not do enough of at school is sleep. Being home and rushing around to see all the old friends did not help my cause one bit. I had a lot of homework that I wanted to get to while I was home and it was spent sleeping or on the move to do something. I slept for an entire day and I still don’t feel that it made up for all that I’ve missed.

11/26

Coming back to the comment that I made earlier about my hockey coach being very disappointed in me, this is how I learned of it. The girl that shall remain unnamed also happens to be his granddaughter. During their thanksgiving he mentioned to her that he had talked to one of her friends and thought that this kid was “partying it up too much at school.” Maybe this just goes along with all the fraternity stereotypes but this did hit me pretty hard because I felt I lost some of that man’s respect that day.

11/26

Again Thursday I spent my night with the girl that I will leave unnamed. Usually I wouldn’t be so secretive but in these days of facebook I wouldn’t put it past someone to quickly search through my friends. There was no talk of controversial topics much like I wished there would be rather, the most interesting thing that happened was the two of us were nearly stuck 30 miles away from our home. I happened to drive out of town without any gas on a holiday and expected all gas stations to be open on Thanksgiving night. Fortunately I was able to push my truck all the way to a 24-hour gas station. If we had broken down I am curious if we would have had that deep conversation that never did happen.

11/26

I spent my Thanksgiving Day with my family at my aunt’s house. These are the memories that I cherish from home. The fun and laughter that my Italian family provides is endless. It was good to be able to catch up with what my younger cousins were doing and be able to give them advice because I can look at my high school days and say what was worth doing and what wasn’t.

11/26

Wednesday night I was able to get out to see nearly all of my old friends. This was one of the funniest things that I did over my break. Seeing how much everyone has changed just shocked me. Some of my friends are doing so well while others seem to have carried their high school laziness over to college. Overall college seemed to make everyone appreciate each other just a little bit more and we all got along better than we ever did during high school.

11/26

Wednesday morning I went to see my high school hockey team and all of my old coaches. I was sorry to find them in worse shape than what I left it after my captainship. The coaches weren’t even running practice so I sat with them in the warming room and chatted about college. Three of the four coaches are young guys that finished college in years recent enough to remember the fun they had. Soon I found myself sharing some college stories. Little did I know that the fourth coach, and elderly man that I respect highly, was listening in disgust. It wouldn’t be until the following day that I learned how he felt about my doings at college.

11/26

Tuesday night I was able to see a girl that I was very close with throughout high school for the first time since we both left for college. We had left things very open before we went away to school because we didn’t want to be so tied to each other freshman year. Seeing her was extremely difficult. How do you tell someone what you’ve been doing? And how do you ask them that question? In our typical way we left it unsaid. The only pains suffered over this will be alone in our minds.

11/26

One of the first things that I experienced when I got home was some of the typical heckling about being in a fraternity. I don’t think people are able to accept what fraternities really are because of the film Animal House. I grew up in a small town and didn’t have a lot of friends (for Penn State standards anyways) but they were all good friends. The fraternity has offered me the opportunity to have a smaller group of friends that I can stay tight with beyond the one class that I have with them. My friends that stayed close to home seem to miss this aspect of the fraternity.

11/26

Well everyone’s been away from school for a few days now and back to the things that we knew so well for 18 years. For me, this has been quite the experience because I can’t help but be torn between who I was at home and what I’ve become at school. One of the toughest things that I had to go through was hearing a man that I highly respected say that he was disappointed in how I was spending my time at school. I feel that it’s necessary to go write about some of these things not only because it’s a requirement but also because I need to sort some things out in my head.

11/17

A couple of guys and myself have to cook a meal for nearly 20 fraternity boys tonight. I’m incapable of cooking for myself. If there’s something that you can chuckle about it’s the thought of 5 clueless guys attempting to cook a turkey and present a meal when macaroni and cheese is the best meal that any of us can cook.

11/17

It was really an awful feeling when I had to drop a class in my first semester here. I’ve never done so poorly at something for so long that I had to give up on it all together. But hey, that’s college I suppose. I had no idea what to expect and it was quite a bit tougher than I imagined. At least I’ll be ready next semester.

11/17

Well I’ve finally made it. For the first time I managed to not go to bed at all one night and just stay up to go to my 8 AM class. It’s really an odd feeling. Your body is stuck somewhere between late at night and early in the morning. I’m going to be completely honest though, I’m extremely tired right now and I’m not sure if I’ll make it through my last class today.

11/16

Wow, it's getting late in the semester and I'm not nearly as good as I once was at getting work done and properly preparing myself for tests and other acedemic work.

11/07

Counterarguments made to ParkerProposalDraft and KevTotoProposalDraft.

11/04

Ok, so maybe choosing to do my final project on the college bcs polling wasn’t such a hot idea. I haven’t been able to locate information on the college bcs, or anything that doesn’t have to do with a major at Penn State. If someone has suggestions I could really use some tips.

11/03

I’ll take a quick jog off of last weeks’ timeline for a short note. I am capable of keeping anyone from doing his or her work. Unfortunately I’m always around myself and therefore I am the most susceptible to distraction. Currently I’ve been playing around with my computer desktop, trying to get it so my computer looks like a window. I’m not talking about a window looking outside to some beautiful beach or anything. I want it to look like the screen is not even there and you can see my bed and stuff as you look. As entertaining as this may be, it certainly is time consuming.

11/03

I’m learning to hate tests in college very much. The latest test that I had to take was for Chem 12. Typically I wouldn’t complain about a test in this subject because the material doesn’t bother me that much. The problem is, tests seem to creep up on me in college. I new the date for the test, it just didn’t register that October 26 was Wednesday. So when my lector mentioned the rules for the exam on the 24th, I was not too pleased to finally realize the situation I was in. It didn’t turn out so bad I guess, I passed the test and am still eligible for an A in the class.

11/03

I never imagined that homecoming was such a big deal at college. Coming from a town that’s population is smaller than the student body at Penn State, homecoming was more about mockery than pride. I was shocked to see how much people were willing to work on their floats. At the same time, being a postulant at a fraternity means helping build, and decorate the float while preparing the house for the alumni to come. I spent nearly every night from 5-11 working at the house in some facet. When it was all over everything turned out alright but I’m still a little sleep deprived from the week.

11/03

Starting one Thursday evening exactly five weeks ago a major time consumer was introduced into my college schedule. I am of course speaking of the fraternity into which I am seeking membership. When all of this started I had no idea that I would have to commit such an immense amount of time to the process. This past week was one of the worst that I have had to go through as far as events and things that needed to get done. I’m hanging on to the hope that sometime soon it will all be over and I can have a little more freedom in my life again.

11/03

College BCS

It has taken me a long time to figure out which one of my interests I would like to write about for the final project. The problem was always that I wasn’t sure if I could find enough information to support my topic. What I’ve come up with for my topic is the college BCS. Every fall it is the topic of conversation because inevitably someone is unhappy with the way that the rankings come out every week. Along with these complains people are continuously putting out ideas for how they could make the system better than it currently is. The only kink may be finding library resources on the issue.

11/02

I think I have finally made it through one of my busiest weeks since we’ve started school. This has been the reason for a certain lack of updates to this page in the last eight days or so. To account for this I think I’m going to do a series of blogs that will at least overview some of the things that I had to do. I may try to keep this somewhat chronological but that may get more confusing due to how these events played out over the course of the week. The blogs will most likely end up being based on the type of thing I was doing compared to accounting the actual events.

Plagiarism

To plagiarize is to use another author’s ideas, information, or how he/she presents it without acknowledging their work. Plagiarism implies a certain amount of dishonesty in that the work has been used as if it were original when it is not. Wiki was used to help in this definition.

10/19

The evaluation of the evaluation argument number two.

The 40 Year Old Virgin

Roger Ebert claims that this is a genuinely funny movie. He sights the relationship between the characters and a special chemistry that existed between the main characters, Andy and Trish. In my opinion the movie was brilliant because promptly every thirty seconds there was another inappropriate joke of some sort. If you haven’t seen it I strongly recommend that you make plans to visit a nearby theater.

10/19

Evaluation Argument One Evaluation

Elizabethtown

The critic makes the claim that the newly released Elizabethtown is disappointing. The reasons that are included are that the characters are not “real” and the movie as a whole does not meet the Cameron Crowe standard. Having never seen the movie, nor shall I ever, I cannot agree or disagree with these claims. However, when something is expected to be able to stand on a pedestal only disappointment will follow.

10/19

Stigmergy

When it is broken down into its most basic parts, stigmergy can be explained as sub pieces working together as a whole. Assuming this definition is correct, stigmergy can be applied to writing. Each sentence works as its own piece of information yet there is a flow from one to the next that allows an overall idea to be formed.

In an article in The Daily Collegian they discuss how skateboarders are forced to find other areas to skate due to the fact that it has been prohibited in the borough and on campus. In the article it says that skateboarding was banned because people were worried about the injuries it could cause to pedestrians and others trying to walk around skateboarders doing such tricks. The article appears to be aimed at Penn State students, do to the fact that it seems to be just an informative piece, however it could also be aimed at the "higher-ups" because it talks about how skateboarders would like their rights back. They address the fact that there are no places for them to skate nearby, however every other sport has an area where they can go on campus. It also raises a bit of doubt for the cause of the banning. If they had banned skateboarding for others safety then why have they not banned bikes, which are just as dangerous. ( I agree with this part. People on bikes do not care if they run into you.)

Claim: Skateboarders cause panic on sidewalks.

Reasons: Pedestrians have to watch out for Penn Sate skateboarders when they are walking.

Counter Argument: There is no place that is designated for skateboarders.

10/16

Maybe this is a better example of a causal argument.

Marijuana usage may cause neuron growth!

Two Canadian medical teams have found that a synthetic cannabinoid causes the growth of new neurons. This substance is similar to recreational marijuana yet it is nearly 100 times stronger. Previously it was thought that the brain did not contain cannabinoid receptors however the researchers discovered that these did exist. This substance could be used to treat nausea associated with cancer and AIDS. However, the cannabinoid that was tested is not the same as common recreational marijuana.

10/16

I know this is coming a little late but after our class discussion on Wednesday I realized that I might have done my causal argument assignment incorrectly. It seems that a causal argument refers to something in the future where I commented on causes of past events. Anyways, I’m going to keep the articles up because Causal Argument #1 is rather interesting.

10/12

Levee Failure Causes Flooding

Engineers in Louisiana claim that the flooding in New Orleans did not occur because of the size of the storm serge, rather failure in the levees allowed the city to flood. They note that they storm serge was several feet shy of the point that would allow water to go overtop the levee. The engineers also cite poor design as a possible cause of the levee failure.

10/11

Causal Argument #1

Cold-War device used to cause Katrina?

This article reports a claim made by an Idaho weatherman that the Japanese Yakuza mafia is to blame for Hurricane Katrina as well as other severe weather conditions in the United States in recent years. Meteorologist Scott Stevens states that the Yakuza used a Russian generator from the Cold War to manipulate weather patterns over the US to avenge the bombing of Hiroshima. Reasons that he uses to support this claim is the unnatural appearance of clouds and his inability to consistently predict weather patterns since 1998 when he first read about the weather manipulation theory. He does not expand upon the details of the device and how it works which would add to the audience’s ability to believe him.

10/10

It’s things like this that keep me up late at night. I was planning on going to bed an hour ago but I started typing and have found that it’s a really good thing to multitask while my friends from back home are continuously IMing me. I also noticed that I’ve been putting the wrong date on all of these blogs. For some reason I consider it Monday until I wake up the next morning. October 10 they shall remain.

10/10

A few weeks ago I thought that it would be weird to go home and back to all the old things that I used to do before I arrived in University Park. Now, I am really excited to be going home and see everyone. I never thought that going back to catch my cousin’s homecoming football game would be something that I would look forward to but I was wrong. I guess it’s good to have enjoy and appreciate both places.

10/10

As a response to the kemblog: I used to be very good at staying up late and getting everything done. My problem at school now is that I’m so busy during the day I can’t get anything done and when I finally get back to my room late at night sitting down and just relaxing is far more appealing than working or even sleeping somehow. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do about this but I am going home this weekend hopefully to catch up on some sleep.

On a side note, I have no idea how long this comment has been up and I feel awful that I haven’t been able to blog until now.

10/10

Growing up in a small town I’ve never experienced anything like these Penn State football games. The closest thing to any part of it is tailgating at the Bills games and even those fail to compare to what happens here. I will say that never before have I felt an entire stadium shake until these past two home games.

10/4

My sleep cycle is messed up beyond repair right now. I think I’m turning slightly nocturnal. At night I can hardly get to sleep but in the morning I have the hardest time waking up and staying wake throughout the day. After my only class this morning I feel asleep for two and a half hours while I was suppose to be getting work done. Through all of this I’m sorry to say that it’s my work that is the true sufferer.

I can't believe I'm recommending this, but sounds like you need to reset the clock. Rather than going to bed at say 4AM, push through, stay up and don't go to sleep until the following evening. It's probably not healthy, but it should work. TheKemBlog

9/30

I was having the hardest time finding an enthymeme until one of my neighbors said something to me that was rather intriguing. Shortly after walking into my room and seeing a fishing knife that I have he asked, “What are you doing with that weapon around here?” I realized that the assumption that he was basing that statement on could have been, a knife is a weapon because it does harm. There are plenty of knives that we see everyday that are far from weapons. A few examples of these are butter knives, sculpting tools, or even scissors. Personally, I use the knife in question to cut things when scissors are to cumbersome, proving that it too is not a weapon.

Procrastination

9/27

The first step in procrastinnnannaation is to have something that needs to be completed urgently. In many cases you will be seated in front of your computer having full intent to do some form of work. The next step is to visually locate the remote control for the television. Reach, extending from the elbow, with the arm in closest proximity to the remote control and grasp it in your hand. Position the remote with the buttons facing up so that you can read the numbers. While pointing the device at the television press the power button, typically positioned at the top of the remote control. Sit back and enjoy. You have successfully engaged in the power of procrastination.

9/27

I think that it is something about this Penn State air. I woke up this morning and again I think I’m getting sick. This has really turned into a never-ending process. I will be fine for a week and it never fails, I’ll wake up one morning and be sick once again. The workers down at the Health Center are going to know me personally if this keeps up.

9/27

Never in my life have I seen so many guys walking around acting like they are in the mafia. Of course I am referring to the fraternity’s bid deliveries last night. I was returning from the Corner Room’s all you can eat pasta dinner when I saw an outstanding number of guys dressed in black shoes, pants, and shirts, swarming around east halls. It was rather entertaining to see all the older guys, and nervous freshman. It reminded me of homecoming, and senior/freshman brothers at my high school.

9/25

I’ve never been very good at the editing process. When I look at a paper like the definitional argument I read it as I wrote it and all the pieces fit together. When I got my papers back on Friday I had no idea that I even had spelling errors in the paper. I seem to find a way to skim over all my mistakes without realizing it.

9/25

Parents weekend was a lot like the days when everyone was moving into the dorms. Except this time, most of the kids seemed like they had better things to do and didn’t want their parents here. This actually made me think about what the first time that I got back home will be like. It’s going to be weird to see all the kids that I hung out with in high school. I guess I’ve adapted to school a lot faster than I had anticipated.

9/21

My topic sentence was identified wrong. I went for the upside down triangle format to see how it went and apparently I wasn’t very clear. At least I’ll have some editing that I can do, joy. (sarcasm)

9/20

I hate doing laundry. I hate it so much that I’m surrounded by three full laundry baskets right now. My only dilemma is whether I do my laundry now or wait until my parents get her this weekend and let them deal with it. I don’t think I’ll make it to that point though, I’m nearly out of every type of clothing.

9/20

I’ve found that doing homework in college is nearly impossible. In high school I never had a problem getting my work done and staying on top of things for all of my classes. However, as the weeks progress here I find that I’m hardly motivated to do any work at all. What it comes down to is that I know this work will take hours instead of minutes and that is really just putting me off from getting it started.

9/15

Final Project

I’ve been trying to think of what kinds of things I would want to write a 10-page paper on. To be completely honest there’s not much that inspires me to write 10 pages so the task has been somewhat unsuccessful thus far. I was thinking about picking something real random to write about. The latest one that I was pondering was writing about reality TV shows and how they’re not based on any reality that I’m living. But that’s all I’ve got going so far. If anyone has any thoughts on my topic look for me online. The screen name is julius rockford, go figure.

9/15

This is just going to be a short thought. I don’t understand the need for professors to plan quizzes and have large homework assignments for Fridays. It’s Thursday night and I’m suck here in the dorms knowing that my buddies are out having a good time without me. Lucky me, I’ll be doing homework and studying for tests, most of which I have in the morning.

9/13

Debate v. Dialogue

I believe that a debate is a subcategory of a dialogue. A dialogue can be the conversation pertaining to anything that takes place between two characters. Personally I think this includes if you are talking to yourself. A debate would then be if the two characters have opposing opinions on a subject and are now going back and forth with statements and reasons. Going back to my inclusion of someone talking to themselves counting as a dialogue, this is why people “debate” with themselves on whether or not to do something.

9/11

I’d like to make a musical suggestion to anyone that needs to drown out the sounds of a noisy dorm room. Given you have the time some day give The Anniversary – Your Majesty CD a download. I acquired this album from a friend about six months ago and it still hasn’t grown old on me. I guarantee that the quality of these songs will far surpass any country songs that may be playing on your roommate’s computer.

Is that a song skipping? Most certainly not, it’s the R-R-R-REMIX!

9/11

I come from a small city near Buffalo, NY called Batavia. It’s just over one third the student population at Penn State. In my town nearly everybody knows who you are. I grew up being the son of Tom, and Tim’s younger brother. The binding piece to all of this is the nickname that we all share.

It must be inherent that when you meet someone with my last name the need to create a shortened version immediately appears. For as long as I can remember I’ve had only one nickname. The same fact holds for my brother and my father. At that nearly every male on my father’s side of the family shares this same nickname. Now it has grown to the point where it is more near to a legacy that is being passed from one generation to the next than merely something that continues to be reinvented.

Sometimes being Tom’s son or Tim’s brother was ok, but sometimes finding your own thing in life can be just as important. I came to a school that is four hours away from home because I wanted to separate myself from my hometown. I don’t wish to be completely disconnected but I wanted a chance to do things on my own for a change.

9/11

Some more life essentials have arrived. My parents swung on down this weekend to drop off more stuff that I didn’t bring. The problem with this was that when my aunts, grandparents, and neighbors learned that they were coming to visit they all baked and packed up a whole assortment of food and goodies. Now I’ve got a room full of brownies, cookies, and candy. Hopefully I don’t pound this stuff down in a few days and run around campus and a huge sugar rush.

My parents must really be getting board at home. For the first time they have to deal with both my brother and I being away from home. Myself obviously being at college four hours away from home, and my brother currently being in Florida my parents have an empty house. The effect of this is that they have raided both our rooms and cleaned them for the first time in nearly, well, ever! I am a little interested to see what my living space back in New York looks like when covered a large assortment of junk. Ah, looking forward to going home, there’s a thought. But I’m enjoying it here so I’m in no hurry to get back!

No need to worry any longer. The strep is finally starting to clear up, of course that is with the aid of some serious drugs. Now I promised an account of the Ritenour medical center and I will not disappoint anyone. Overall I was very impressed with the experience. The people inside are very nice and helpful, always making sure that you are getting to the right spot and that you don’t get lost in your feverish haze. I have only two complaints about the system that they run at the health center. The first is that when you initially go to there you have to make an appointment for the next day. When I was that sick the last thing that I wanted to hear was that I needed to wait another day to see a doctor and more importantly, get some drugs. Second, once the appointment is over and the prescription is written you have to wait nearly a half hour for the prescription to be filled. If they sped up the process a little I wouldn’t mind getting sick so much. Ha, right.

I don’t know how it happened but by one misfortune or another I’m rather sick right now. About Friday morning my throat started hurting. At that time I didn’t really think anything of it but it has progressively worsened. I’m at the point now where I need to hit the Medical Center bad. My only hope is that I can make it through tonight and tomorrow without too much pain. Maybe tomorrow I’ll update everyone on what the Ritenour building is like on the inside.

Blogs..?

The one thing that I would like to know is, who came up with the title of these things? Immediately when I hear the word "blog" I think of something terribly boring. If the words blah, bland, and ugh could all be wrapped into one, blog would be the result. Somehow i feel that it lacks the insperational zest that an online journal should have. However, it could be that there is no way I would be inspired by a five times a week, fifteen week commitment. I do hope that I get used to sitting down on a regular basis and writing these blogs. I can barely imagine the painful hours in front of this keyboard if I lack the desire to commit. PS. I do know that "blog" comes from weblog, but in no way does that excuse its dryness.
